Live Wedding Painting Details
Overview
I love the magic of weddings. Two people celebrating their love alongside family and friends--it just can't get better than that! I just got married last year so I know all the stress that goes into wedding planning. I'm here to help make your special day even more memorable and leave you with a painting you will cherish for the rest of your life!
What to Expect
Prior to the event, we will talk, either in person or over the phone, and discuss the timeline of the day. I want to make sure I am a good fit for you and you know exactly what to expect before the big day. If there are any specific requests you want included or left out of the painting, this is the time to nail that down.
On the day of the event, I will arrive to the venue early to set up my easel and begin sketching out the background. After the ceremony, I can move to the reception area, or solely be at the reception all day, depending on what the client wants.
By the end of the day, I will have blocked out the colors, people, and background with acrylic paints. This will not be the completed painting. I will then take the painting to my studio and, using reference photos I will take throughout the day, will finish the painting using oil paint.
Once the painting is complete, I will either meet you or ship it to you, depending on where you live. If I have to ship it, that will be an added charge.
Live Wedding Painting vs. Commission Wedding Artwork
Live wedding painting is more expensive than a commissioned piece, so if you are looking for a more affordable option, be sure to check that out! With live wedding painting, not only will you get the polished, detail-packed oil painting, but you will also get entertainment throughout the day. You will get to watch the painting come to life as your special day unfolds.
A commission is artwork that I will create post-event. You will send me a picture (or preferably a few to choose from) and I will create artwork from that image. Since this will occur completely in my studio, it will cost less than the live artwork. I currently offer oil paintings and charcoal pieces for commissions. If you are interested in a specific style, we could discuss that too!
Another difference is that I currently only offer oil paintings for live events. I also specialize in charcoal, so if that is what you are interested in, still feel free to fill out the interest form and send some wedding photos so that we can discuss a charcoal commission!
